The Spot
The Spot is a Youth Centre aimed at people aged 12-24. It is led by young people for young people who are involved with all the decision making for the centre. We work to develop youth led events and encourage young people to be involved in running these events.The Spot is located between Motordrome and the YMCA, in Queen Street.
What’s happening at the Spot at the moment?
Two separate buildings make up the Youth Centre. The rear building is a Youth Activities centre, open from 3-6pm every weekday as a youth café. Young people are welcome to come to play pool, do some dancing, spend time with friends, kick a ball around, do some artwork or use our wireless internet. At all times the centre is supervised by a youth worker to make sure it is safe and inclusive.The front building will be developed into an information resource centre covering a range of youth focused subjects, from health and employment, to law and advocacy. The plan is for this to become a hub where organisations can contact, meet and talk with young people in a setting easily accessible to youth.
