Youth Support
Youth activities and the development of a youth centre are co-ordinated by youth coordinator, Glenda Moss.

Glenda's responsibilities include:
running the Masterton Youth Council
supporting the implementation of the Youth Development Partnership Fund, including events run for youth by youth
coordinating the development of a Youth Development Strategy with Masterton District Council
Coordinating The Spot, a youth centre in Queen Street, Masterton

The Spot and other youth activities are a joint venture between Wairarapa REAP and the Te Kura-a-Rangi Trust.

Te Kura-a-Rangi Trust was set up to establish the youth centre and work to appoint a youth co-ordinator, employed by Wairarapa REAP. It is made up of representatives from five partners Rangitne o Wairarapa Inc, Masterton District Council, Wairarapa District Health Board, Masterton Trust Lands Trust and Kahungunu ki Wairarapa. Each member is mandated to provide youth services or activities for the community. The name was suggested by Cultural Advisor, Mike Kawana, it's meaning is youth vitality and reaching their potential, and refers to a young Rangitane Chief, Tuteremoana whose head was adorned with a feather from the sky.
