Rangiwhakoma Education Centre
at Castlepoint
Wairarapa REAP along with its partners in this venture, Whakataki Marae, and the communities of Castlepoint, Mataikona and Whakataki have taken over the Castlepoint School site and reopened it as an Education Centre.

The centre is available for use by education groups (Early Childhood centres, Schools, etc...) for use to run your own programmes or for use as a day base whilst visiting the centre.
The school has been repainted and has chairs and tables for use.
It is an ideal base for Marine and Geological Science programmes, Language development, Environmental studies, Art programmes and Te Reo Maori programmes.

Local people with a great understanding of Maori stories from the area are also available to schools.
Charges for use of the centre are as follows:
Wairarapa Schools $1 per child, minimum $75 per day
More information on the centre, or on someone who can provide some local Maori history (for a fee) can be obtained from REAP Staff.
Bookings for the Centre are to be made through Wairarapa REAP.
