The Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange

The Wairarapa Green Dollar Exchange

The Green Dollar Exchange operating out of the Wairarapa Community Centre in Masterton has been providing the Wairarapa with a complementary currency system since 1990. Members sell goods and services to one another, and to members of the public in general, through a variety of Markets held regularly throughout the region, and by means of both a print and electronic goods and services Directory. Trading occurs through the medium of Green Dollars and the recently introduced WAIS Vouchers.

The aims of the exchange can be summed up by quoting from its constitution:
1. To assist members to be actively responsible for their own financial well being
2. To promote local economic and social development in the Wairarapa.
3. To enable members to achieve greater financial autonomy and inter-dependence and to encourage and enhance their natural creativity and skills.

Next Market on Sat 29 Nov in Carterton from 9:30 - 12:00 in the Senior Citizens' Hall on the main street.

Contact the Green Dollar exchange in The Wairarapa Community Centre on Dixon Street in Masterton. Ring 06 377 0717 or email: letstrade@wise.net.nz Check out www.ces.org.za
