Exploits of the REAP Staff

The offices here at REAP House are getting very quiet with two of of our staff off gallivanting, the rest of us frantically walking, getting active, and signing up for marathons!

Wendel Richardson - Education Team Leader
Wendel has recently returned from Niue and before she had time to catch her breath she’s jetting off to Seoul, Korea for the CONFINTEA Conference, as part of a government delegation.

The CONFINTEA Conference is a UNESCO conference to review the role of adult learning and education for equity and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region.

We look forward to hearing all about Wendel’s trip when she returns.

Mark Harris - Active Wairarapa
Mark has been busy collecting up the Active Wairarapa surveys ‘How Active Are You?’ and getting organised to head off to India!!!

Mark is the Team Manager for the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune, India and he flies out Wednesday 8th October.

Upon his return he’s then jetting off to the Big Apple for the New York Marathon, where he is Team Manager for the NZ Achilles Team, a group of athletes with disabilities running the New York Marathon.

REAP Staff
There are also REAP Staff signed up for the Wairarapa Country 1/2 Marathon on the 12th October so if your not entered already get online and enter! If we can do it anyone can!

The rest of the Team are busy walking and getting active for Walk Wairarapa, and getting on top of everything before Christmas - which is now hurtling towards us!

Check back soon to see whats happening at REAP and how we are getting on!

Adult Learners Week - Awards Evening

We have received some fantastic nominations for this years Adult Learners Week Awards.

Due to a number of issues this year we have decided to celebrate Adult Learners Week a little differently this year.

A celebratory dinner will be held on October 16th 2008 for the learners and their nominees.

Thank you all for your nominations and a big congratulations to all Educators, Learners and Providers involved.

Women's Weekend

Unfortunately due to time constraints and lack of a suitable venue in the South Wairarapa we have at this stage postponed the last Womens Weekend for 2008 untill next year.

We have some really fantastic tutors and ideas for workshops, and will DEFINITELY be holding one early 2009.

A big thank you to all those women who came along to our Womens Weekends in 2008, we hope you all enjoyed them.

Watch this space for further details!

Walk Wairarapa

The Team here at REAP have gotten behind this great initiative kicking off on September 15th 2008.
We will be busy keeping track of our physical activity levels, check back soon to see how we are getting on.
